Well, here we go. This is the beginning of my blogging life. It may work or it may be a bomb, but it is meant to show that I am not quite past it yet. I am a woman who is somewhat past 50 and still trying to figure out my place in the world. At various times, I have been a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a lawyer, an expat and a volunteer. When I started my present incarnation, I was practicing law in New York and expecting my first child with my husband. What this has evolved into is my becoming a trailing spouse and stay at home mom, who along the way has moved to London and am now trying to figure out what comes next. A lot has changed over time – my little baby has grown up into a sometimes charming, sometimes sullen teenager. We have all become British citizens and kept being Americans at the same time.  I have figured out what I want to do next and then have lost the thread – several times. Frustrating.

What this is all about is trying to figure out what comes next and to convince myself (and the rest of the world), that I am not quite past it. Some of it is about being an expat, and some of it about just being a person who is a bit lost at the moment. Hopefully, it just won’t be boring along the way.
